Industrial designers, inventors, artists, craftsmen and women, illustrators, builders, makers, dreamers and doers.  We are insatiably curious and ridiculously positive people who take our inspiration from the world around us.  

PATRICIA SCHMIDT MOORE Director of Business development Professional Background Working with people has been my passion. From the very start of my career I have been involved with sales and customer service. My international experience involved sales and services for car dealerships, privately owned stores and large companies such as Marc O’Polo. From operations and training as well as purchasing, shipping, receiving, human resource functions and event planning, I have touched every aspect of a working environment. Other companies like Victoria’s Secret, The Men’s Wearhouse, Siemens Industry Inc., I am from Germany and have been in the States since 1999. The influence of German and European business strategies and the exposure to Design and the different markets gives me the ability to recognize customer needs and wants. Most of my education was received in Germany, where I earned my Associates in Business Administration including an apprenticeship. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Leadership with Ashford University/Forbes School of Business.  Community Involvement Community involved has been very important to me. I have been an usher at The Playhouse in the Park since 2003. Since, 2010, I have been participating in events for the American Cancer Society and have been an ambassador for the Making Strides Against Breastcancer Walk. I am a member of the American Association of Notaries and joined a variety of networks and groups that are focusing on the all around success of businesses.

Professional Background

Community Involvement

Community involved has been very important to me. I have been an usher at The Playhouse in the Park since 2003.

DAVID SCHWANEMANN PARTNER & DESIGNER Professional Background Graduating from the University of Bridgeport in 1985, I first worked designing disposable medical devices (skin staplers, aortic punches safety syringes, auto transfusion devices). In 1990 my career took an unexpected turn. I was hired by Hasbro and began designing toys for preschoolers ( Playskool division). Following this I formed Swan Design, a toy design consultancy serving small and large toy companies ( Tyco, Little Kids, Hasbro etc. ). Moving to Cincinnati, I freelanced at a variety of design firms (S.O.E.D.A.,Index/ Fisher) From 2009 I taught product design drawing for Cincinnati State's Industrial Design program.  This lasted until 2015 when Element was formed with Josh Haldeman, a designer I've worked on & off with for fifteen years. JOSH HALDEMAN PARTNER & DESIGNER Professional Background I began my professional design career as a research associate intern with Procter & Gamble.  I conducted research and testing, produced sketches, models, and prototypes on projects including the Swiffer WetJet, Crest WhiteStrips, Glad Press-and-Seal, and several other consumer disposable products. After graduating from Ohio State, I was hired at Index Design.  While at Index (which became Fisher Design during my tenure) I worked on projects for companies including Coca-Cola, P&G, Sony, Brita, Hamilton-Beach, Scotts Lawncare, Wellcraft, Hobart, Nelson and the DeLorean Motor Company.   In early 2000, I founded Terradise Design. which became Element Product Design Studio in February, 2015. Community Involvement I am currently a member of the leadership team for the Ohio South Chapter of IDSA, having served as Chair of the chapter from 2013-2015.  I am a senior volunteer for May We Help.  This organization designs and builds custom assistive devices for people suffering from mental and physical disabilities.  I have served as a mentor and volunteer with FIRST Robotics since 1995 in a multitude of capacities.
